Subject examinations are limited to students with fewer than 90 credits. (See Math Placement for more details) Subject Examinations Math placement is based on ALEKS Exam score or prior course credit. Placement in English is based on ACT score in English. MU recognizes college course work completed before high school graduation if the college attended provides an official transcript of the course work. No credit is granted for subsidiary-level examinations. Students may receive credit and/or advanced standing for proficiency on the higher-level subject examinations.

International Baccalaureate Arrangements for departmental examinations should be made through Testing Services. The examinations are objective or essay formats and are prepared and graded by the faculty of the department concerned and MU Testing Services. Departmental Examinationsĭepartmental examinations are limited to students with fewer than 90 credits and with no official record of previous enrollment in the course(s) in which credit is to be received.ĭepartmental examinations are comparable to final examinations given in the various courses offered on campus. Credit for a course by examination is not available to students who have essentially covered the material of the course in college or university courses. The College Level Examination Program of the College Board provides general examinations and subject examinations. Students should contact their academic units if they have questions. Students who receive a sufficiently high score are eligible for college credit. The examinations are prepared and graded by national committees, and the results are furnished to MU on request of the student. The Advanced Placement Program of the College Board is accepted by MU. The programs described below are used to award credit. A student who has received credit for any portion of a lower level course will not receive advanced standing credit for that same course. General eligibility to receive advanced standing at MU does not guarantee its applicability to a degree program. Credit may be awarded, but no grades or honors points are recorded. They help provide care to residents by providing mobility assistance, escorting them to the dining room or appointments, or providing assistance with skin care.MU offers the opportunity for advanced credit by examination to any student with fewer than 90 credits. They often have more contact with residents than other staff members and their responsibilities can include answering call lights communicating with residents, families, and staff serving meals making beds and tidying residents' rooms. CNAs also may be responsible for taking residents’ temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate, or blood pressure. The program consists of a $700 lecture course and a $300 clinical course for a $1,000 total cost, though scholarships may be available. The 120-hour program teaches basic caregiving skills, infection control, communication techniques, and safety procedures. Available in Brenham and Bryan, Blinn's Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Program quickly provides students the thorough, hands-on training they need to begin their healthcare career and pass the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services Exam, which certifies them for employment as a nurse aide in the State of Texas.
